HOLLYWOOD PARK/NOTES

Friday November 28th

Thanksgiving Day a three year old filly named Pesci made her racing debut a

winning one winning in easy fashion to her owner Oscar winner Joe Pesci it was

also a maiden score. Although Pesci said he spent many an hour at the races in

his younger years he had never owned a horse. Pesci is in partnership with

trainer Wesley Ward.

Speaking of stars, the stars of the racing world will be at Hollywood on

Sunday as the Hollywood Park Turf Festival wraps up the days with the Matriarch

and the Derby. As we mentioned earlier in the week Jerry Bailey will be

attempting to surpass Mike Smith's record of graded stake victories during the year

although he may have already tied it with a win on Congaree Saturday at

Aqueduct.

In Friday's card Mambo Slew won the Miesque Stake in fine fashion holding off

the fast closing Ticker Tape who finished second. Mike Smith rode the winner

who paid $8.60.

Tyler Baze put away the other speed early and had enough left to win the

Hollywood Turf Express with King Robyn with Geronimo closing fast, King Robyn paid

$3.80 as the odds/on favorite.

Ten more races tomorrow highlighted by two stake races, the one mile Generous

for two year old will go as the fifth race and the Citation for older horses

at a 1 1/16th both races are on the turf.

Friday's late outs: Go Yoyo (1), LeroyJ (2), Ardum Relaunch & Shezsofoxy (7)=

Twenty-eight years ago we began the Victor The Predictor Membership Club. The intention was to publish weekly a list of horses that were coming off troubled trips along with horses I felt were very playable in the future. I used such terms as, "galloped out strong," "much the best," "he/she is a runner," "rough trip," "terrible ride." The troubled horses were listed as per the trouble. We have eyes watching the races along with personal contact. With the advent of simulcasting and the introduction of my web site I'm extending the services of my Newsletter. I now wish to make it available via e-mail to all horseplayers playing Southern California along with my many followers who play Emerald Downs.
By using cyber space rather then, "snail mail," we'll save postage, envelopes and letterhead fees.
I open subscriptions in October and close them December 31st.
Yearly subscriptions 48 issues covering Santa Anita through April, then Emerald April through September closing day. We then pick up Oak Tree in October.
COST; Southern California only, Opening day Santa Anita to mid April. Cost $25,Yearly subscription $50.
For sample copies for the next couple of weeks through Oak Tree e-mail,
Predictorsays@aol.com.
